lol.. you researched more than I did ;)

I remember this site being posted a while back with a similarly worded
question (albeit the same question).. it's a sad state of affairs if
they have to "advertise" for coders in this method.

i currently employ a very good programmer in Canada
i pay supposedly $10 per hour
but it works out at about $10 for 2 simple bug fixes
as i am out of practice with programming
and make many mistakes with syntax
          also, despite the name phpexpert,
i am no expert as i am learning php
          and mysql at the moment
i am looking for programmers for each
country in the world - as not only will
you program, but market the company as well
if you live in the UK you can FREEphone
0800 019 0924 to discuss any rate of pay

            LOL!

Let me see... $10 in UK money is ~£6.26... I wouldn't get out of bed for
that! What are you going to do, when someone says they want £30+ an
hour? My guess.. is have a mini cardiacarrest.

Out of curiosity, what kind of projects, size, type, timescales, etc
do you have, and who's architecting them?

What IP rights arrangements are there?

              Who's doing the selling?

It doesn't take a genius to realise from my email address that
I probably am in the UK...

I have to say, though, based on the code in use at PHPExpert.org, I
don't see how I could help - what kind of level do you code at?

                      Ian,

it's only marketing, but $30 sounds better than £19.48
and it definitely sounds better than £40 or $61.60
i only want bug fixing help in the mornings
as my canadian employee can help me out at other times
if you can help me with bug fixing at whatever rate
you deem reasonable them email me at
                      damian@phpexper t.org
                      or phone 0800 019 0924
if you help me get the project online by this friday
then i will pay you at least £40 per hour

i know the bounds of programmers
most programmers can't market or be a salesman
i am looking for those programmers who have
a bit of wit about them and can represent
a company in good humour to customers worldwide
most of the marketing will be done by email
so there is no face-to-face pressure for programmers
believe me, when i say, it is easier to market a product
than to develop it in the first place, programmers don't
market because they can't or because they have never
learnt how to market, and some programmers just
                      haven't got the knack
i detect from your writings that you won't be a
hopeless marketer, not that i am a perfect judge
or perfect marketer, but i do know i have 13

You live (or appear to from your headers) to like in the UK.. so why are
all your prices so far in $? (just curious).

Even so, when I talk to other UK people regarding contracts, I discuss
monetary values in Pound Sterling, but my honest opinion, is if I
contact you and say I want £40 (yes, that's 40 UK Sterling Pounds) you
                      are going to laugh.

Still.. if you feel that you can afford to pay that sort of hourly rate
(remembering of course, I'm not going to be accepting 100% on completion
/ handover of the work due to the nature of this type of agreement),
feel free to contact me and outline your proposals.

                      A heads-up; I don't work on a commission basis, it's either 100% on
handover, or it's not at all, as I think you'll find with most
                      programmers.

Your primary objective IMO though, is to learn to differentiate between
a programmer and a marketer.. there is a big difference, and although
I'm sure many marketers would love to be programmers, I'm sure the same
figures do not apply for the reverse.

                      Regards,

                      Ian

                        matty,

i detected you were from the UK
it's getting late in the morning
can you help me to bug fix in the mornings ?
i don't know what code you have looked at
at www.phpexpert.org, but the type of coding
will be of php and mysql, i can code from
machine code/assembler up to high level languages,
but i am out of practice and get many syntax errors
and so i need help in bug fixing
i feel, with help, i can get this project done by
friday and run it by the weekend
i don't know whether you say you don't see how you
could help because you aren't capable or because you beleive
the level of coding is below you, but i tell you,
this project needs a bit of clever coding with multiple tables
in a database and decisions on sending email messages
it should be very challenging and interesting
if you can help, then please email me at
