MSSQL_connect problem

hi all,

i've encountered a new problem. i was trying to connect to a ms sql server (9.0) to connect i use this:

mssql_connect("***.***.***.***","User","userpw");

and i got this error:

Warning: mssql_connect() [function.mssql-connect]: Unable to connect to server: ***.***.***.***

so i thought: "server is down", and i tried connecting with sql management studio. this worked. so now im search why php tells me it can't connect.

also, i tried adding the port (which i think is standard 1433) to the IP address without any luck.

can anyone help me with this matter?

Maybe mssql_get_last_ message() will hold the error.

if you're using PDO, the thrown PDOException might hold additional info.

well, i found the source of my problem. it was an invalid dll.
