Email Configuration Settings in Joomla! 1.5

    Hi, everybody:

In Joomla1 1.5 when a user is added, the following a message is shown:

    Could not instantiate mail function.

In Global Configuration-Server-Mail Settings, the Sendmail path can be
found: this is OK for Linux or Unix but for Windows, what is the
    correct mail program?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Regards,

    Marco.

In Windows you don“t use a mailprogramm.
You can install IIS (on XP Prof)
    or
    use an external Server.
    Both is SMTP-Server.
    And normaly SMTP-AUTH: Yes

IIS had its own MTA, you can use Exchange or you can get one of the many
free or for charge MTA's out there. The latter typically have more options.

But none of this has anything to do with PHP. Try a Windows newsgroup.
