Hi Lovely :)

There's fantastic documentation and all the downloads you need for PHP
from www.php.net - installation instructions are there for all the major
servers - Apache, IIS, IPlanet, etc.

PHP's functionality is increased enormously by a database, so MySQL
(www.mysql.com) is a worthy addition.

You only need a text editor for creating PHP scripts. Nothing fancy is
needed, but a editor such as HTML-Kit (http://www.chami.com/html-kit/)
is handy as it has a syntax highlighter, helps you FTP your files, etc.
