    OSCommerce & credit cards

OK, I know a few of you out there use OSC and many of you have also
modified it a bit, so I am hoping someone has done something similar...

I have the CC payment module installed, not a problem up to this point.
However, I now need to limit the types of cards people can use. I want
to allow payments for Visa, Master, Discover and AmEx, but none of the
    others.

My first reaction was to go into the cc_validation:: validate mthod and
simply comment out the patterns for the card types I do not want to support.

Would this really be all I need to do? Anyone else have experience with
    doing similar mods to OSC?

    TIA

That should be ok. I would also do it in Javascript and save some server
roundtrips and tell people the types of credit card you support. A simple
Javascript check can look at the first digit and make sure it's 3 or 4 or 5
or whatever is for Discover plus the self card validation algorithm.

You need to be editing a file named ccval.php

        Justin,

What board to I remember you from??? Fusebox huh?
Anyway, I did a custom mod for a client a while back that did something
        similar.

The mod allowed one to select the card type from dropdown, and the card type
        selected
must match the number entered (double validation).

Send e-mail to. laidbak 69 @ hot... and I will give you detailed
instructions on what to modify w/o messing w/ the default
        code too much.
