How to stop new sessions starting?

What i need to know is how to stop new sessions from being started without the current session being destroyed.

What do you mean?

The same session will follow you arround untill the browser is closed, given that your PHP is correctly configured.

If you dont want to resume the session in a specific PHP document you can simply skip the session_start() method.
