    Why would one want to chmod PHP files? And how do I do it?

    becaus of its accessing right? security is a must sometimes. so public
    browsers can't access/write/read some files
    connect with your ftp (I use cuteftp). then right click on the file/map en
    on the bottom of the menu there should say chmod. click on it, and read a
    manual on the internet of what you can & cannot doe.
    f.e. : when u disable reading for a normal page for public no one can access
    that file anymore. but disabling the public reading of your config settings
    increases your security big time.
