Why no television programmes about php ?

I'm only asking this because Krusty, who sometimes frequents this
newsgroup is going on about the BBC in the uk.media.tv.mis c newsgroup
about them not producing any such programme although he will not
approach the BBC Commissioning Editors with this as an idea, as indeed
he did not when he last complained about it some months back when we
gave him various pointers as to how he goes about this.

So, anyone in this newsgroup, does your country produce a television
series about php and if not, why not ?

    Many thanks,

    Richard Brooks.

Err... Why should they? Do they produce TV programs on rivets, toenail
clippings, SMTP protocol or the international trade in dandruff? (I
don't have a telly so possibly they do.)

How about Big Bugger where a bunch of programmers are eliminated one by
one based on the quality of their code? Obviously it wouldn't last long
if it was based on quality of personal habits.

My country is still in the "Internet is Evil" phase. All media content
about computers tends to speak about pederasts and terrorists. The only
exception is YouTube, which is used by TV channels to broadcast videos for
      free.

However, I once saw a TV series where office computers where not switched
off all the time, but I forgot the name...

In the US, many community colleges broadcast education materials on
cable television. I'm sure computer programming is subject that's
        covered.

Heh! You're getting into my territory now.

After being amazed at how crap the first (ahem) 'Reality TV' series was,
where those twats were supposedly stuck on an island but could get a
launch to go shopping on the next island - then the next thing they did
after spending time building a camp, burned it down as a symbol of
breaking with the old, I thought, wouldn't it be great if they played
lion sounds in the jungle then kidnap one of the people at night,
leaving lines of blood and chunks of meat ?

To paraphrase a wonderful line from the Beavis & Butthead Silas Marner,
Kick-boxer episode spoken by the film voice-over "this film is so bad,
it won't just scare you. It'll mess you up .... for good!"

php Island. It's RTFM (or in this case "Really Too F***ing Mental!")

          Richard.

Actually the suggested tv show was mostly about web design .

But why let fact get in the way of a good rant .
