    PHP/MySQL on Windows 2003 Server 64bit

We're looking at getting a hosted dedicated web server to host our
PHP4/MySQL4 websites. It needs to be a MS Windows server as we use .NET Web
Services for a lot of background communications.

We've found what appears to be a fantastic hosting package but it is on
Windows 2003 Server **64 bit edition**.

Are there any problems with PHP4/MySQL4 on 64 bit servers?
Are these problems easy to overcome?

    Cheers,
    Tom

I don't have any experience with MySQL but I run XP x64 for a desktop
and 2003 x64 for a server, both with PHP 4 installed and have not had
any problems. In fact the only problem that I've run into with the 64
bit versions of windows is low level drivers. I've yet to come across
an application that didn't run properly. The 32 support (that MS
inexplicably calls WOW64, very confusing) works extreamly well.

      Tom,

I am not sure if server 2003 is similar to XP 64-bit edition, but if so
there is a WOW (Windows On Windows) environment that has a 32-bit emulator
for 32-bit apps. It works fine for me. There are a few quirks, but none
that would affect you as far as I can tell. You could ask the hosting
provider, but I doubt they would give a straight answer. You may want to
look at a dedicated solution to be safe.

      Maybe this will help too:
