It has a search facility (which redirects to Google for the full site search).
Putting the body of your post in the search box on www.php.net comes up with:

http://www.google.com/search?q=how+can+i+view+a+list+of+files+in+a+directory%3F+site:www.php.net&l=en

Which gives you the answer as the first hit.
