Though the price is steep, Zend Studio is by far the best PHP IDE. If you
already have an older version, it will probably not be worth the money,
unless you really can't do without the new features. The only features I
cannot do without is the ability to "mount" ftp dirs, and the excellent
code completion. I'm on version 5.0.0 now, for writing PHP5.

Is it true that the standard edition doesn't support MYSQL? That you
have to buy the "Pro" Edition for it?

Download it and try it, you get a trial period... That way you can
evaluate if it meets your needs. You could also check the zend.com site
        and read the product descriptions...

Thank you so much for your valuable input. But just another question Is
it true that the standard edition doesn't support MYSQL? That you
have to buy the "Pro" Edition for it?

I'm not sure if you can access MySQL in the standard edition as I use
the "Pro". However IMHO I don't really like the MySQL support anyways
and don't even use it. I was excited when I first heard about MySQL
support but once I tried it, I just went back to using phpMyAdmin.

I do however recommend using Zend Studio as it has made my job a whole
            lot easier.
