Looking for a string within a string

Hello all

I'm a bit hungover (please excuse any stupidly worded sentences that I blurt
out) and can't remember which function I need.

I'm trying to search for a string within a string - i.e. looking for
www.google.com in $HTTP_REFERER.

I think I remember this being possible, but can't remember how. Any tips?
