problems installing horde and IMP

I have trouble installing horde because my ISP does not have PHP
complied with the gettext parameter. Is it possible to install horde
without the gettext parameter compiled into PHP? Or is there maybe a way
to add gettext functionality to PHP without having to recompile it? I
don't have permissions to recompile PHP on that server. Any help is
appreciated.
