    PostgreSQL vs. MySQL

    Hi,

I have just started a new job as a webmaster where they use PostgreSQL.
    I have always used MySQL.

What are the differences? How does PostgreSQL work with PHP as apposed
to MySQL? And finally, how do you pronounce PostgreSQL? Is it
    post-gre-sequel or post-gre or what?

    Cheers

    Burnsy

Here is an article from 2003.
    http://www.databasejournal.com/featu...le.php/3288951

That may explain something fairly quick for you.

Now postgre has stored procedures, views, triggers, etc.... much more
feature wise than mysql (mysql is starting to close the grab with there
    recent dev versions.

Pretty much exactly the same. Investigate the manual:

    From the dictionary: http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=postgreSQL

    /'post-gres-kyu-el/
