we using Perl script with postgresql database for download.Freque ntly database goes slow so updation of the database takes longtime and same file name insert with different file id.if i reinstall Perl DBI module it works fine for two to three days without any problem after that it goes slow.i want to know whether there is any chance for perl module corruption ? if it is corrupted how can i overcome this problem? pls give me solution to solve this?because anytime i installed DBI module it needs to restart server it's tedious process.

Have you checked if, by chance, the database has a heavy load when you are running your script that might be causing it to slow down? I have never used postgresql as I am a MySQL user, but can't say that I have experienced that with MySQL before. -
I suppose it's not reinstall of DBI that helps, it's restart.
As for corruption, there is no writing to module when you use it, so it should not happen.Comment
