    Oracle dba studio

    Hi,

When I click on "add database to tree" in Dba studio nothing happens,
I can't see a list of instances to add to the tree and I can't
manually type one in.... the menu option does nothing.
This is a new installation of Oracle 8.1.6 on an NT system, running
    Dba studio V 2.1.0.1.0.
I've been able to do this on other servers without any hassel in the
    past.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Look around for files name tnsnames.ora. Sounds like either you don't
have one that has what you are looking for in it, or oem is looking
somewhere else. Oracle goes through several places to find it
(including the registry and $ORACLE_HOME\ne twork\admin). You might
want to rename all of them and create a new one with net8 assistant,
or if you have a good one on another server, copy to one of the
places, or your own special place and set TNS_ADMIN.

    if you have metalink access.
