    RFD: Periodic FAQ & Charter post

    The following is a Request for Discussion, following up on some recent
    posts about distributing a periodic news group 'Charter and FAQ' post.
    While not formally following RFC/RFD rules, the intent is to use the
    rules as a guide for the discussion and make a more formal Request for
    Comment and a follow-up formal vote, possibly before year-end.

    Proposal:

    That the following be posted weekly for this news group:

    Hans,

    The .server, .misc, and .tools, and .marketplace have been the result
    of a discussion to split comp.databases. oracle
    'Officially' comp.databases. oracle doesn't exist anymore, and many
    providers (eg my own) do not distribute it anymore.
    One would do better to discourage posting to comp.databases. oracle,
    making it finally extinct.

      I concur. However, some ISPs (including mine) DO carry it and it seems
      to be growing lately.

      Please note the 'Charter' section in detail!
