application with router/gateway functionality

Hi I need to write application which acts as a router with NAT using winsock. Something like Wingate application.

I have no idea how should I start to write this application. I know how NAT works but I dont know how to force windows to redirect all incoming packets to my application.

Any links, tutorials, etc will be very helpfull.

It seems like this might be a bit large of a project, if you don't know where to start.

Why do you need to write one? Why not just purchase one?
