    How to set-up Linksys router(wired)

    Good day,

I have this DSL connection which has a dynamic IP address, then I have a new Linksys router(wired), and I had set-up my linksys router through it's web-based “Setup” utility, I had use the MAC Address Cloning feature of the router and then restarted the DSL Modem, the Linksys router and my PC, but then I can't still connect to the internet.

Does any one here know what should I do to fix this? Please help me.

NOTE: I already tested all my UTP chords and they are all ok. I also know that my DSL Modem works perfectly fine and I also had checked the Physical Address (of my PC) and the cloned MAC Address (of the Router) are both the same.

Is it really necessary that you clone the MAC of your router?

Well, most troubleshooting steps are the same:

    1) can you access the internet when your computer (and not the Linksys box) is set up straight to your DSL box?

    2) if you connect the DSL line to the Linksys box, and then the computer to the Linksys box (making sure the DSL line goes into the WAN port and the computer is in one of the other ports), then do the following steps: unplug your DSL line, unplug your Linksys box, shutdown your computer. Then plug your DSL line in and wait two minutes for it to fully boot up. Then plug your Linksys box back in and wait for it to fully boot up. Then turn your computer on.

If neither of those work, we have to get into the configuration of your Linksys box, so please post the config information from that page (you can edit out anything you feel you don't want others to see, I will edit out anything I think you should have edited out ;).
