Another good question for you is... What is it that "ALERTS YOU" like are you in windows Internet Explorer and something just pops-up and says your using to much bandwidth???

Or is it just on your computer..

So as stated from Banfa what is your OS and ISP are you using??

You you right click on the Task Bar then you get a menu and the 3rd item from the bottom is "Task Manager".

Select this and the "Task Manager" runs. Along the top of the "Task Manager" window are several tabs, one of them is "Networking ", select this tab and you get a page that has a list at the bottom. The list contains all you network connections, their bandwidth and their current % utilisation so you can see how much you are using each network connection. Additionally there is a utilisation graph for each connection.

You should leave "Task Manager" running while you work to monitor network activity.

As I said if you are using Windows XP then the Task Manager contains a basic bandwidth monitor.

Or for something a little more detailed you could try Process Explorer available from Microsoft.

Alternitively "Bandwidth Monitor" in google brings rather a lot of results.

                    Hi.

Firstly, I guess that there's no prob with your ISP. What I really feel is that the alert message is the activity of a TROJAN. I had the same such experiences a few days ago. Of course I too hardly made any downloads or uploads. Yet, I always got alerts which were like "Your system is infected with virus. Your Internet usage is maximum" I dont remember the exact alerts, but similar to wat I have said here. Try, reparin your Windows XP, or best would be run a spyware program. I am quite sure this could be the problem as you say that u hardly make any downloads.

You should call them and ask what the scoop is, what about this Virus thing? Do you have an antivirus installed and is it current? Maybe if you could post a pic of the pop up we could tell more.
