    .Net Framework MSSCONNECTORSERVICE error

I have installed Win7 on my Intel Duo Core machine running on Gigabyte motherboard. I have a consistent problem with the machine hanging every hour or so. On checking the Event Viewer, the error is always "MSSCONNECTOSER VICE" with the following description "Unable to connect to the remote server at System.Net.Http WebRequest.GetR esponse() at MSSConnectorSer vice.MSSLongPol ler.Poll()". The error seems to be related to .Net Framework. I have since uninstalled and reinstalled Framework 4 but the error still persists.
Can someone please assist? Thanks- Herbert

I have WIn7 either as 32 bit or 64 bit on 6 machines at home, and another 30+ at work. The machines range from AMD dual core, to Intel quad. I've never seen that.

Did you do an 'upgrade' from an existing OS to Win7?

Personally, I'm a big fan of formatting and installing from scratch.

I did have a hanging problem on a dual Intel, but it was video cards fighting each other. The AMD 4 port card and the Intel motherboard chipset and the DisplayLink driver didn't play well in an effort to have 6 monitors (5 fullsize + 1 Mimo). Driver updates since then have resolved that incompatibility .

I installed Win7 clean from scratch. I suspect it is the HP Mediasmart Home Server I have that is causing the problem. I installed WHS as part of the sw and I have the funny feeling that it is trying to connect to the remote server -HP- which I do not turn on most of the time.

Couldn't tell ya about the HP media software.

I have a PC that runs my living room entertainment system. It is the tv tuner and DVR, BluRay, and TV show / Movie archives. I use one external 2tb drive for movies and another for TV shows. That way if I go on the road I can just pick up a drive and have the entire movie directory with me.

The living room shares these two drives. The other computers have these two drives listed as their only MediaCenter locations.

Seems to work fine. The wife's laptop is connected to a 26" in the bedroom. The guestroom PC is an HP Touchsmart.

Any PC in the house can access the living room and watch it's media.

I see no need for third party applications.
