What is the latest and greatest for Speech Engine Technology

I see a ton of different speech technology sprinkled all over various MS
Products. Is the 2004 version of the speech server the latest? Or is it the
office 2007 speech server? I'm having a hard time finding documentation on
how these products differ if at all.
