Problem creating installer in Visual Studio

I am trying to create a very simple installer for a utility that I am writing.

I have followed the set up as describe in many articles but I am getting an error I do not understand when I try to run the installer

    The error is:
The folder path '.' contains an invalid character

I have looked for information regarding this error and have not been able to find anything that seems to make sense.

    Any help would be appreciated.

So I have found the solution. I finally discovered the properties specific to the setup project. Inside those properties there were two fields that included a '.' which is the reason it was failing. Replaced those with valid information and everything appears to work.

Wish someone in one of the tutorials had mentioned those properties being defaulted to an invalid character and they need to be change.

Which properties defaulted to invalid entries? I've made several setup projects with defaults and had no issues.

Author and Manufacturer both defaulted to '.' so when it tried to install it didn't like it. Not sure why mine is set up that way but I guess it is.
