I am posting to the general discussion group - but I cannot find my

    Re: general discussion question

It sometimes takes a bit for posts to show. I see three posts by you,
"Antivirus Programs", "Flash Player" and this post.

      Re: general discussion question

Upon further review, the other two questions are likely not to be answered
by this group as this group focuses on "General Discussion of .Net Software
Programming". You probably will have more luck in a group with "Windows" in
      the group name.

First, find appropriate groups for your questions. There are many groups on
the Microsoft public news server that have the word "general" in the name.
They are for general discussions on a specific technology. This group is
named "microsoft.publ ic.dotnet.gener al" and is for general discussions on
the .NET environment. Also note that questions on non-Microsoft products,
such as Adobe Flash, are not likely to be answered in any *Microsoft* group.

Here's one way to fin appropriate place(s) for your questions:

Let's say, as an example, you have a question about Windows...

As you appear to be using a web interface:

Click the + beside your language. then scroll down to Windows. In Windows,
find the category for your version of Windows. Open it and find a group for
        your question.

If your question is about a different Microsoft product, open various nodes
in the tree until you find a related category.
