C# custom function need for edc

hey all - i work for a software company that creates software for clinical trial industry - electronic data capturing. now i am going to create custom functions for this system. it uses c#. i am instructed to go to a week long or so class teaching me the language (.net 2.0 or above environment). are there any tools that i can use to help me program and learn quicker? any suggestions in classes? i do have visual basic programming experience. thanks all!

Well, if you don't already have a copy of Visual Studio 2008 yet, you can get the Express editions from Microsoft:

I can't stress enough how good an IDE Visual Studio is.
