probleum in installing .net 3.5 framework on window 2000 professional

i made a program in visual basic with .net framework 3.5 and when i run this program on any other computer it produces error and when i install framework 3.5 on that computer this program works fine but the .net framework 3.5 is not installing on window 2000 professional
is there any other .net utility like 2.0 or another installed on window 2000 professional and if yes then can that utility run my program which has been made in .netframwork 3.5

You need to know that W2K will not be supported soon, next month I think. But if your users can't change you could test with 2.0. Suggest you check compatibility through MS.
