Iam displaying a data in a gridview with datasource as Dataset, but my requirement is i want to display a grid with desending order based on regid( column) in sqlserver

So modify your SQL statement with an ORDER BY clause.

Yes it's true just change your sql statement like,

select regid,name,emai l,homephone,cit y from Table_name order by regid desc

THen u have to add ORDER BY clause in ur SQL statement
