HI,
To use update panel just include the ajax controll toolkit in to your project and then use the tags

<asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel1" runat="server">
<ContentTemplate>
// Content Of your page
</ContentTemplate>
</asp:UpdatePanel>
