I posted this Tuesday over in the Win2K general forum and haven't
received a reply so I thought I'd try here:
I'm installing an updated application on a Windows 2000 machine that
requires the .net V2 framework. This application tried to automatically
download and install it but apparently got hung up. I tried exiting,
rebooting and downloading the .net V2 redistributable from MS and
installing that and it got hung up as well but I was able to see where
exactly it got stuck, under "Installati on Progress" I see this:
Key:
\Software\Micro soft\Windows\Cu rrentVersion\Si deBySide\Patche dComponents,
Name: {63E949F6-03BC-5C40-C01F-C8B3B9A1E18E}, Value:
C:\WINNT\winsxs \Policies\X86_p olicy.8.0.Micro soft.VC80.CRT_1 fc8b3b9a1e18e3b _x-ww_...
can anyone make a suggestion about how to overcome this installer hang?
