W2K message "Null data set"

I got a message from W2K as below.

"Null data set can not replace EMS data !"

what is the meaning of it, does this related to SQL server.

My initial guess was Windows 2000, but that doesn't really make much sense in that context.

Hi Atli,

You are right. the SQL server was run on Windows 2000 OS. I got this information message with a data base address. However the message doesn't have much meaning information for me distinguish that this is a transient fault or not.

I'm still not sure what it is you are asking.

Where did you get that error message?
Did it pop up on your computer?
Did you get it on a web page?
Or what?

And what were you trying to do when you got it?

It pop up when I open the GUI interface.
It appear once and it never happen again.

I need to know what application gave you this message and what it was trying to do when it happened.
Otherwise I'm forced to guess, and I really don't like doing that.

In the void of any useful information, I would have to guess that your application, whatever that application is, is trying to update some data, but it has no data so it has nothing to update it with.

This probably involves some sort of a database, but whether or not that database is run by a SQL server, the message does not say, and seeing as I don't even know what application is producing the error, I can't say.
