syncing mobile Application with Desktop Application

Hi everyone... I'm very new to the mobile development world. I currently developing a desktop application that I would love to integrate with a mobile version.

I'm wondering if anyone has ever developed an application that has had the ability to sync with a desktop app or if anyone has come across any information that might be helpful to me.

Any platform that I could do this with would be a big help! (nokia, iphone, etc.)

I'm very interested in learning this, if you have any resources please send them my way.

You have a load of different options here:

3rd Party software like afaria to sync the databases
Write your own sync engine (eg. a series of web services)
MS Sync Framework link

Depends on your resources, skill set, timescales etc....
