I would say go with mobile.

You should also consider web, as the browser is available on all platforms, mobile and desktop and is a very popular tool on both.

As mobile bandwidth increases and the smartphone browsers gets better, the development should move towards the browser.

The beauty of apps in a browser is that it is nearly OS independent.

The top three smart phones are android, iphone and blackberry so focus there if you intend to do native application development.
