    Hi sandhya rani,

I'm afraid your question is a little vague and/or wide-ranging. Why don't you google for "unix commands". This will give you a number of useful links and then if you have a more specific question, you can try asking that.

    Best Regards,
    Paul

        Heya, Sandhya.

Common examples are sh, bash, csh, etc. Pretty much the name of any shell that is installed on your system.

          Hi Sandhya,

It's not so much a matter of being sorry for asking questions here. That's what we're all here for. I'm just not sure what question to try to answer. I redirected you to google (or whatever else your favorite search engine might be) because you are much more likely to reach a question that you can profitably ask by diving in to something and then asking about things that you specifically are having trouble with. Just remember that when you ask a question here, it often takes time before anyone has a look at it and then some time to compose a sensible answer. In general, it's best to ask a question here when you have reason to suspect that it will take you longer to figure out the answer than it will take to wait for someone to come along with the answer.

And then, of course, there is also the fact that you will undoubtedly learn more from figuring out the answer than from asking and reading the sort of quick response that most of us are likely to give you. But don't feel put off, just use your head and all should be fine.

          Best Regards,
          Paul
