Its called geocoding...her e is a linke for some developer resources: http://code.google.com/apis/maps/

I think I'll move this to the JavaScript forum where they can help with the Google APIs

It may well have been for a mobile device and therefore appropriate for the mobile forum. However, seeing how old the thread is and the unlikelihood of a response, I'm sure we can accommodate it here :)
