finding dificulties in writing programme for attendance

am trying to write a programme using Ntebeans 6.8 " java"
i want my programme to evaluate the attendance for 25 student for the course

the programme should show every student 1st three names , Id number and the number of absences
if the student got 3 absences the programme should show the percentage of absences


3 absences > 5%
4 absences > 10%
5 absences > 15%



the programme should work for all the semester

please give me hints in how to start writing it or what should i keep in mind when i'll start writing it

shall i use loop

WELL , i already did that
for example i wrote down that i have to write down a programme for 25 student and thier IDS

the programme should display everyday each student name and id
the user should mark the student absent " how ?i have no idea "
and then as i mentioned if
3 absences > 5%
4 > 10%
5 > 15 %

and what are you going to use if you were me
while /for loop ?
saved data that the programme will read from the student name and ID ?

Really? That's great! Most people come in here less than prepared but you seem to be ahead of the curve.

Could you show the data layout of your classes? Just copy and paste the corresponding section in your comments. Not sure where you've decided to put the attendence records. (eg as a member in the Student class or as part of a class class).
