    This is y i love Bytes.com

Hey, umm, I was thinking about how this website is made amazingly and I was wondering on how they managed to make the bold, italics and underlined characteristics of the input which you type on the questions.I mean look at it.It's like wordpad in your page. That is genius.Anybody have an idea on how you do that?????

there is plenty of such 'inline editors' for webpages available. i just did a quick google search with: inline html editor and got many hits for editors such as CKEditor or TinyMCE, which can even let u do that in a WYSIWYG style - they rely on JavaScript.

the current one here is pretty basic - because u simply need to create pseudomarkup like a [code] tag or something like that - and when u display it u would simply replace that with corresponding styled HTML tags. this can be done server side or even clientside. its similar to the 'wiki-markup' that u can use when writing wiki articles.
