    Nested table fails to display in IE

    Good people.
    I'm afraid that I have reached the edge of my understanding. My table works in Safari (Max) Firefox (Mac and PC) but not in IE8 (PC).
    the page is: http://www.portraitbust.com/Gallery.html

    Here is the code for the table. and the pertinent css

    Can anyone help?
    Thanks

    Code:
    <table class="gallery" align="center" width="650" border="0" cellspacing="5" cellpadding="0">
      <tr><td><iframe name="Pedestal"   style="border-width:1px; border-style:solid; border-color:#9c7f47;" width="500" height="501" marginwidth="0" src="Portfolio/Pastor.jpg"  scrolling="no"></iframe></td>
        <td>

        <table  width="150"  border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
      <tr>
        <td><a href="Portfolio/Pastor.jpg" target="Pedestal" <img src="Portfolio/Thumbs/tPastor.jpg" target="Pedestal" /></td>
        <td><a href="Portfolio/Pastor2.jpg" target="Pedestal" <img src="Portfolio/Thumbs/tPastor2.jpg" target="Pedestal" /></td>
      </tr>
      <tr>
        <td><a href="Portfolio/Richie.jpg" target="Pedestal" <img src="Portfolio/Thumbs/tRichie.jpg" target="Pedestal" /></td>
        <td><a href="Portfolio/Richie2.jpg" target="Pedestal" <img src="Portfolio/Thumbs/tRichie2.jpg" target="Pedestal" /></td>
      </tr>

      <tr>
        <td><a href="Portfolio/Extinction.jpg" target="Pedestal" <img src="Portfolio/Thumbs/tExtinction.jpg" target="Pedestal" /></td>
        <td><a href="Portfolio/Extinction2.jpg" target="Pedestal" <img src="Portfolio/Thumbs/tExtinction2.jpg" target="Pedestal" /></td>
      </tr>
      <tr>
        <td><a href="Portfolio/Thief.jpg" target="Pedestal" <img src="Portfolio/Thumbs/tThief.jpg" target="Pedestal" /></td>
        <td><a href="Portfolio/Thief2.jpg" target="Pedestal" <img src="Portfolio/Thumbs/tThief2.jpg" target="Pedestal" /></td>
      </tr>

        <tr>
        <td><a href="Portfolio/Philander.jpg" target="Pedestal" <img src="Portfolio/Thumbs/tPhilander.jpg" target="Pedestal" /></td>
        <td><a href="Portfolio/Philander2.jpg" target="Pedestal" <img src="Portfolio/Thumbs/tPhilander2.jpg" target="Pedestal" /></td>
      </tr>
      <tr>
        <td><a href="Portfolio/Tesla.jpg" target="Pedestal" <img src="Portfolio/Thumbs/tTesla.jpg" target="Pedestal" /></td>
        <td><a href="Portfolio/Tesla2.jpg" target="Pedestal" <img src="Portfolio/Thumbs/tTesla2.jpg" target="Pedestal" /></td>
      </tr>
      <tr>
        <td><a href="Portfolio/Hongwu.jpg" target="Pedestal" <img src="Portfolio/Thumbs/tHongwu.jpg" target="Pedestal" /></td>
        <td><a href="Portfolio/Hongwu2.jpg" target="Pedestal" <img src="Portfolio/Thumbs/tHongwu2.jpg" target="Pedestal" /></td>
      </tr>
    </table>

        </td>
    </table>
    The css is taken from the imported style sheet

    Code:
    img{border:#9c7f47 solid 1px;}

    .gallery{position:relative;
    	margin-left:auto;
    	margin-right:auto;
    	top:-425px;
    	height:500px;
    	width:500px;]

    It is not at all unusual for properly written web sites to fail in IE since it's such an antiquated browser, however, you have 83 html errors and one serious CSS error. Validate for those lists.

    You are also using the XHTML1.1 doctype. That version is for XML applications only. Change it to the 1.0 doctype.
