qustion about browsers behavior loading images

    Hello all,

i recently notice (with fire bug) that sometimes
images .gif (even small ones like 149 B ) takes 4.93sec to load
and larger ones 4 K takes few ms,

can someone explain me this behavior?
i dont have a tool to test this in IE. any recommendation about such a tool?

for general knowledge what's the normal time for a home page of a web site to load? user experience wize

    thanks

It depends on where the images come from. Some of those images may already be in your browser cache while others come from a slow server somewhere.

IE has the IE Toolbar, which is nothing compared to Firebug and why would you want to use it?

hello and thanks for the reply.

the test i did is after i clean all the cache and cookies in FF.

i think that the time that firebug says he loaded the image is not accurate.

in total i can see the page load in 4 sec,
and the images have more then that :(

      strange

I doubt it's anything to do with FF. More likely a slow server.
