    Why does IE make such goodness-awful (sic) buttons in HTML?

    Why does IE make such goodness-awful (sic) buttons in HTML?

    Here is my code:

    [HTML]
    <button name="submit" value="submit" type="submit">
    <br />
    Try the<br />
    <strong>(&beta; ) George Ver</strong><br />
    'Web Map'<br /><br />
    <img src="/images/logos/mapserver.gif" alt="MapServer logo" /><br />
    <br />
    </button>
    [/HTML]

    Looks just fine in Firefox, Opera, Safari, etc - nice, thin blue border with a sense of some style... :-)

    BUT in any flavour of IE the button borders are hugely "pixelated" like something off an '80s Atari!! Just plain BUTT ugly... :-( and the mouse over shows a similar "pixelated" (sic) ugliness, just highlighted in a different colour

    Help!
    GREG...

    I hate it that IE can't even acknowledge those things supplied by microsoft.

    Another one is how the beta IE8 renders hotmail.... its stupid!!

    The best advice i have for you is to either do it using CSS or using javascript.

      That code looks identical to me in both FF and ie6, plain jane dumb looking gray button. (Note, the image didn't load because I don't have full url)
