Two questions about SQL server and bytes forum

I am a newbie in SQL server and wanted to learn it from the scratch.
I am new in Database also
SO, please suggest me a good book for it.


Secondly ,Where is the option that emails me someone answers my thread.
I have to refresh the page to see if anyone has answered my thread.


Last but not the least , I just wanna thank all the people here for contributing here.
I find this forum the best among all.
I always get my answers from here.
ALthought I am nto in a postion to answer someoen coz i am still an amateur but as soon as I get my hands on it I will surely contribute from my side too !

You can get email updates via a roundabout method. You should see an "Unsubscrib e" link in your thread. Click it, and confirm that you want to unsubscribe. Then, when you are redirected back to your thread, the unsubscribe link will have become a "Subscribe" link. Click it, and choose instant email updates.

As to the SQL book, I can't really recommend one, because I learned from experience rather than a book. But the Wrox books are usually very good. Look them up on google.
