    Email forwarding problems

I am not a programmer or such so I need a straight forward answer. Most of the time when I try to forward anything but straight text the recepients get a bunch of letters that have no bearing on the message. I suspect this is code but it means nothing to me. Pictures arn't there, just a small square with a red x in it or completely missing. .
Occaisionally even my text messages are nonsense letters.
If I have not followed protocol with this question I apologize.

    Heya, xalfo. Welcome to TSDN!

You may be seeing text encoding problems.

What email client are you using?

Thanks for the reply. This probably is not the proper use of scripts but I am desperate.
I am using excite.com as primary with HTTP as default.
I haven't had much luck using yahoo as well.

        Heya, xalfo.

Don't worry too hard about whether you're following the rules here. If we want you to do something different, we'll let you know. You already have bonus points for using good grammar and spelling :)

I'm just trying to make sure I understand your situation correctly. Are you using a web browser to check your email? Or are you using an email application such as Outlook?

If you have the opportunity, check over the 'nonsense letters' in the forwarded messages. Do you notice that most of them are occurring where an apostrophe or quote marks should go? Or does it truly seem to be random?

I would say that I am using Outlook. When I bring up email account it says I can "change email accounts and directories that Outlook uses".
It states that Outlook processes email for my Excite.com account. It would seem that Outlook also does so for my other accounts such as Yahoo and MSN Hotmail though they are not listed.
As for the letters, my recepients will receive a whole page of them (letters) without regard to punctuation, etc. Actually it is not only letters but other coding as well. My guess is that there is some compatibilty issue but that is only a guess since this is not my area of expertise.
It may be as simple as my going back in somewhere and checking something or removing a checked item.

            Heya, xalfo.

Can you post some of the email that is getting mangled?

Perhaps Outlook is trying to send HTML email to a client that only accepts text email.

At least this has me thinking. I went into Internet Options and from there to Internet Properties and changed from Outlook Express to Microsoft Outlook. I then forwarded several messages to my other email accounts. There were no signs of the "code" but pictures still would not come through. In the past I could forward and include another of my email accounts and likewise get the "code", which by the way was sometimes there and sometimes not. The only way I will know if this change worked with the text is try it for a while.
When and if it occurs again I will post it. Too often I have not been aware until my email recepients complain that they had received garbage instead of a message.
