making an audio cd with a dvd-r?

i have some DVD-R that are 4.7 gbs in size
i want to make an audio cd to play in my car on drive, would this be possible?
do i need a special program to accomplish this task if possible?

SOME new players will read MP3 files (which is a great way to go because you can get so many songs on there) from a large data disk like a DVD. MOST car CD plarers probably won't.

CD audio on DVD doesn't work.

Our Panasonic DVD player doesn't seem to have any indication that is will play MP3s, but it plays them. I guess you should make the disk and start puting in players to see if it'll work.
