What I am looking for is an FTP server with filtering options.
Example:
\TV Directory contains:
HD Nation - hd.1x01.mkv
HD Nation - sd.1x01.avi
HD Nation - hd.1x02.mkv
HD Nation - sd.1x02.avi
HD Nation - sd.1x03.avi
HD Nation - hd.1x04.mkv
What I would like to do is create a virtual directory that filters to only files that contain “sd.”
So for example this virtual directory on the ftp server could be called SDTV and only the following would be returned:
HD Nation - sd.1x01.avi
HD Nation - sd.1x02.avi
HD Nation - sd.1x03.avi
Additionally I would love to have another virtual directory on the ftp server called Best. This directory would contain the highest quality of a given episode.
So the following would be returned in this virtual directory:
HD Nation - hd.1x01.mkv
HD Nation - hd.1x02.mkv
HD Nation - sd.1x03.avi
HD Nation - hd.1x04.mkv
I come from the MS Access/SQL world and this is a simple select query for records in a database. However, I do not know how to do this in file server environment. If FTP is not the best protocol to use I am open to suggestions.
Thanks,
