Stream TV Shows directly to my computer

    Hi,
I have an editing/multimedia computer. I am in movie editing business and i would like to know if it is possible to plug in my computer to my TV and watch/save the show to my harddisk? Are there softwares that do that?

i'm not aware of a solution for that ... because the tv had to output the signals ... and i think that a 'normal' tv is not able to do that :) ... but you might buy a tv-card for your pc and with that you are able to save the stream to your hd ...

    kind regards

To watch things from your computer on your TV, you need either a graphics card, that has a S-Video output (as many modern ones do) and a TV that supports S-Video input or adapters to do this or a similar job.

To do it the other way round, stream a video signal from your TV to your computer, you'll need some sort of TV card. A lot of modern cards have a DVB-T receiver built in, which is no good to you - you would want one with an input connection, that you can send decoded signals to. Most old TV cards support this and some new ones too.

You will then need software to watch / record the incoming signal, but such software is normally supplied with the TV card. You can also find various such programs online to do the job, quite a few are even free and some of them pretty good too.

      Greetings,
