How to to start DB2 in services.msc or command prompt?

    Hi,

I am trying to start DB2 in Services.msc and command promt both but it is not started and showing error that "Windows could not start db2 db2-0 on local computer. Error code -8000". In system log the statement is "The DB2 - DB2-0 service terminated with service-specific error 4294959296 (0xFFFFE0C0)."
I also tried to put right password which i have given during installation but unable to do the same.
    Please reply.

    Thank you

    Hi Tarun,

Probably you need to apply the license for the product. Use below command to see the license status for your product.

    db2licm -l

    C:\Windows\syst em32>db2 " ? sql8000n "

SQL8000N DB2START processing failed; a valid product license was not
found. If you have licensed this product, ensure the license key
is properly registered. You can register the license via the
License Center or db2licm command line utility. The license key
can be obtained from your licensed product CD.

    Explanation:

A valid license key could not be found and the evaluation period has
    expired.

    User response:

Install a license key for the fully entitled version of the product. You
can obtain a license key for the product by contacting your IBM
    representative or authorized dealer.

    Cheers, Vijay
