DB2 Configuration won't open

Hi All,

I'm trying to use DB2 server admin client for Windows 7 When I try to open 'Configuration Assistant' the initial screen comes up along with a DOS window and then both of them just close without the configuration assistant opening up.

Can somebody please help?

Hi,

Look at the windows event viewer for more information that should be logged. May be some issues with Java running on your system.

Raise it with IBM support for quick follow up as it may be lead to some internal issues with windows 7 and you require to update some software/patches etc.

Thanks Vijay, but I figured it out. The issue was when you're installing the data server client it asks if you want to use the windows security. I needed to un-select that option.

Indeed that may be a reason. What I suggest is to check and make sure that instance owner is a part of admin group created by the installer and that it has got all the required priviliges.

Also try to open CA with admin privs.
