We have used a data replication product that has replicated our production data base to another server, both servers are AIX 5.3 operating system and IBM DB2 data bases. The product replicates at the logical volume level and that part works fine.
The problem is, the system, that was the target system, that received the replicated production data base, know nothing about this data base at the operating system level.
My question is how can I make the target system aware that a new data base exists and gain access to this data base at the operating at system level "db2".
I have copied the $HOME/db2instance over to the target system and updated the /etc/service with the correct port information from the production server.
I am not sure if doing that was correct or not, to begin with.
I am not DBA so it makes this a little more interesting to learn.
Any help would be great.
