Environment: WebSphere Federation Server, 9.1 FP 3 on AIX 5.3
Remote Data Source: Oracle 10
Table in remote database has a function based index on it.
In the DataJoiner days, I had to request this index to be dropped
before I could create a nickname. With WebSphere Federation Server,
that is no longer necessary.
Once I create the nickname, should I see references to these function
based indexes in the WFS catalog view syscat.indexes? I do not. I see
no reference in the Vs 9 manuals that indicates they are excluded.
Under "Create Nickname" the following are the cases when indexes will
not be reflected:
1. Duplicate column names
2. More than 64 columns
3. More than 1024 bytes in the sum of the length of the index key
parts
None of these apply.
Can someone point me to a reference that explains this situation?
My reason for wanting to see them, is to provide input on what indexes
are valuable based on syscat.packaged ep. But if the indexes are not in
the catalog, they certainly wouldn't show up as dependents.
Thanks,
