Serial Communication using modem vc++

HI, all
I am new to modem programming using vc++.
I have created two app. one for sending file and other is receiveing that.
when i use this app. as our internal extension number(EPBX) such as 577 and 581.
i.e i have to pc 1 for dial from 577(send) to 581(recive) on ohter pc .in this works fine. but when dial from outside i.e my mobile no. to 581 both file note send/receive .
any suggesiton ????
I found one problem is ,
both end modem speed become different when both are connect.
is this right or not or else.

In serial there is a option of setting the BAUD rate depending upon the connection and i think you can explore on that option
