delimiters. The best, native, delimiter for Excel is TAB.

Use fwrite() to write your data.
Use fclose() to close the file when you're done.
As to _what_ to write, you'll need to go elsewhere to find specs on
the Excel file format. Perhaps this URL is what you're looking for:
